French door window treatments, the options are endless

 French door window treatments can be very challenging when you are trying to create a specific look and feel to a room.  One suggestion is door panel curtains.  This provides you with endless options on fabric weight, color and pattern.  Curtains make perfect French door window treatments to create an open appearance, yet provide some privacy.  You can also use these window treatments as sidelight curtains to carry the theme from room to room.

Other French door window treatments you can consider are honeycomb shades.  The headrail on these isn’t very deep so it won’t interfere with opening and closing the door like other window coverings.  If this is too expensive, you can also use a mini blind that attaches at the top and bottom so that it doesn’t bang on the door every time it is opened and shut.

Window shades also make excellent French door window treatments.  They lie flat enough against the door that they don’t get in the way of the handles when in use.  You can attach them at the bottom of the window using brackets or a mini rod.  You have a number of options to choose from, just remember that the window covering must lie fairly flat and it can’t come into contact with the door handle.
