Beaded curtains – a taste of Asia in your own home

Beaded curtains have been a popular choice for window coverings in Asia since the early 60’s.  Beads made of wood, plastic, glass, bamboo, acrylic, gemstones or crystal is hung over the window from a rod.  The objective of the beaded curtains was creating a color look and feel in the room where they hung.

Beaded curtains are not only used as window dressings they are used effectively in entrance ways or suspended from the ceiling to act as room dividers.  In the 1960’s, people used them to act as closet doors.  Today, they have become very popular with people who want to add some Feng Shui to their homes.  The beads are believed to be calming and of good karma.
