Silhouette blinds and shades are so much more than just window coverings

 Shopping for window treatments can be a lot of fun because of the wonderful selection of coverings available.  You can choose from shades, shutters, drapes, panels, venetian blinds, silhouette blinds and shades.  One of our favorite has to be silhouette blinds because of their elegant look and versatility.  You can choose from a full palette of colors to match any room decor.  Silhouette shades are a combination of transparent voile with a venetian blind. 

With silhouette blinds, the horizontal vanes are held between two sheer voile facings.  This combination allows you to control the light perfectly as well as providing all the privacy you need from your window coverings.  You can select from vanes in either 2 or 3 inches in width depending on the look you are after and the size of your windows. 

Many of the leading manufacturers make a full line of silhouette blinds including Hunter Douglas and Luxaflex.  Hunter Douglas silhouette shades completely disappear into the headrail when pulled up.  This provides an unobstructed view out the window.  This is something you always want to consider when choosing your window treatments, especially if you have a nice view.  If you decide to go with silhouettes, you won't be disappointed with either the look or functionality of them.
